My New Hair

This was my birthday gift to myself..a new, fresh do. I love it.

Thanksgiving Point

On Saturday, we went to Thanksgiving Point to the children's farm area. Bella LOVED it. She loves making farm animal noises so getting to see real live animals. She got to see cows, calves, horses, a donkey, chickens, sheep....etc. The pictures tell the story...

My 26th Birthday

Last Wednesday, the 23rd was my birthday. I had a great day, got to spend the whole day with Gary and for dinner, we went downtown to Ruth's Chris steak house. It was a great day, I woke up to a decorated house, a picture colored by Isabella, and we went out to breakfast for my favorite, bagels! At dinner, Gary and I were talking about the past year and everything I have learned and become passionate about. He told me he loved seeing me pour my energy into learning about natural birth and parenting. I have been looking into becoming a birth doula and so he told me he wanted to pay for the course so I could get started on it. In addition, my parents also contributed toward the course. I am so excited. It is through Childbirth International and mostly online. I will get written materials and I am assigned to a trainer who will grade my assignments and answer any questions. I have to attend two births as a student and observe a childbirth class. I have a few books to read- although I have already read many from the reccommended list. I am so excited to get started. If anyone reading this is planning on having a baby..especially a natural birth, I would love to help you and in turn, you would be helping me so let me know. Well, I have a few more entries to write so that is the end of the birthday one. - ciao!

8.5

Yes, Eight and a half is the number of hours Bella slept last night!!! It is a miracle! So, for those of you who are thinking...and...? Isabella has never slept that long in her 19 months of life. She usually sleeps 3, maybe 4 hours before she wakes up and we have to get her. Last night, I heard her crying and I sent Gary to her room to comfort her..well he comes back to our room holding her and says," guess what time it is? 5:30am!!! I just thought I would share that since it is such a big deal to us. Hopefully this is not a one time thing...we will see...

Visit to Houston

I was in Houston last week for a few days and here are some pictures to go along. I also got to meet the midwife I am going to use for my next pregnancy(no I am not pregnant right now) I am so excited because I found her while searching for midwives in Houston on the internet. I found her web page and while reading about her and her philosophy of birth I actually had somewhat of a spiritual experience. I knew she was who I wanted to work with and it just so turns out that her office is down the street from my parents' house. Since I am planning on having a home birth there, it will be just perfect. She was so nice and I already feel very close to her. Well, that will unfold in time. Back to those pictures...
